Trial by Jury.........

I just went to the county website where Unibrow was arrested at our church - it says calendar call 3/17/2005. It then says Jury Trial 4/4/2005. Our pastor told DH today that he talked to the Prosecutor and it looks like it will be moved back to May........

is it normal for a case like this The State of GA vs Unibrow to have a Jury Trial?

Honestly, Missy, don't be surprised at all if it's not heard til next year. The DA/detectives/etc told my aunt that from the very beginning. Remember, she was beaten ON VIDEO TAPE with a branch, and nearly died from it, in June 2003. They just got sentenced in December 2004. They can find any number of reasons to postpone. And the worst part of it is that it's usually the Defendant who gets to call all the shots.

Long live the "justice" in our system.

I say we just go back like the good ol' days of cowboys and Indians. Everyone seemed to have minded their manners back then.

Jen I am with you on that one - I like the old system better - but then again I agree we should have public hangings (no hate mail please) - so people would realize there are consequences for actions.

Amen, Sistah!!

"Take all the rope in Texas
Find a tall oak tree
Round up all of those bad boys
And hang 'em high in the street.
For all the ppl to see."
as written by Toby Keith/verse sung by Willie Nelson

That song came out only about a month or so before this happened to my aunt. I always loved it but after that happened, it took on a whole new meaning. It really gave my family something to cling to during that time.

Actually Missy, I think a trial by jury is a guaranteed consistitional right. Only if she pleaded guilty and just needed sentencing would it just be a judge unless she waived her right to trial by jury.
